The Ultimate Guide to Caring for Your Slime: Keep It Fresh, Stretchy & Fun!
Always Start with Clean Hands and Surfaces
Your slime’s best friend is a clean environment! Before you play, wash your hands thoroughly with warm soapy water—don’t forget to scrub under your nails! This helps keep your slime fresh and free from dirt or oils that can cause it to become sticky or even develop mold.
Also, clean the surface where you’ll be playing, both before and after. Dirty hands or surfaces can introduce germs or debris that affect your slime’s texture and safety.
Sticky Slime on Arrival? Here’s What to Do
Sometimes slime arrives sticky, or it may get stickier after you’ve been playing. This can happen for several reasons: changes in temperature, your body heat, or if your skin is dry.
How to Get the Perfect Feel for Your Slime
1. Wash your hands well – and if you’re playing with any slime except clear slime, apply a tiny bit of hand lotion to reduce stickiness.
2. Remember, warm, dirty, or dry hands can make slime stickier.
3. Before you start playing, leave your slime in its tub. Put a few drops of our special activator (a.k.a. sticky-stop solution) on your hands and gently press your fingers into the slime to check the texture.
...If your slime feels too sticky:
• Take your slime out and spritz a small amount of activator directly onto it.
• Knead gently, then repeat adding activator in very small amounts until it feels just right to you.
Activator: Friend and Foe
Activator helps you get that perfect slime texture, but be careful—not to add too much! Too much activator can dry out your slime, making it stiff and prone to breaking. Add activator slowly, drop by drop (or spritz by spritz), until you reach the perfect feel.
Added too much activator by accident?
No worries! Add a few drops of baby oil and warm your slime gently in the microwave for a few seconds (ask an adult to help). Then knead it until soft and stretchy again.
Important! The activator solution looks just like water, but it’s NOT safe to drink. Always keep it in a clearly labelled bottle and store it safely out of reach of children and pets.
How to Play with Your Slime to Keep It Happy
• Play gently—don’t pull your slime too quickly or it might rip.
• Start small; play with a little before using all of your slime at once.
• Always store your slime in its tub with the lid securely on when you’re done.
• Avoid mixing your slime with other slimes or adding extra ingredients—our slime likes to stay pure!
Temperature Tips:
• On hot days, if your slime is sticky or runny, pop it in the fridge for 10 minutes before you play.
• On chilly days, warm your slime gently in a microwave-safe bowl for 5 to 15 seconds (ask an adult to assist) to restore its stretchiness.
Messy Moment? How to Clean Slime Off Clothes and Carpets
Oops! If slime ends up on your clothes or carpet, don’t panic. It can be washed out easily—but only if you act fast.
• Hand wash the area immediately with warm water before the slime dries.
• If it dries, the glue in the slime will stick tougher to fabric—making it harder (and less fun) to remove.
Note: Slime will not come off paper, so try to keep it away from books, magazines, and other paper surfaces!
Important Safety Reminder
Slime is for playing, not eating! Keep slime away from your mouth and always wash your hands after playing.
Also, some steps—like microwaving slime or mixing activator with hot water—need adult supervision. Always ask a parent or guardian for help to stay safe.

With these easy tips, your slime will stay fresh, stretchy, and ready for hours of fun playtime. Remember: clean hands, careful activator use, and proper storage are the secrets to slime happiness.
